Some of you may have been wondering why I haven't posted anything for a while.

( I mean, my upload schedule has never been very consistent but last year was exceptionally crappy in that regard. Sorry. ) The reason in a nutshell: 2020 & depression. Need I say more?

Aw heck! I do, actually...

-The colorful elephant in the room: RWBY. Oof. I'm honestly kind of apathetic towards the show at the moment. You might think the current volume would have inspired me to draw more RWBY stuff but... sadly, no. I do have a couple of drawings planned and also three

long-ish Cinder Shark adventures I still haven't posted but other than that, it's difficult to say how much more fan art I'll be able to make of this series. "A Broken Promise" is still on the table despite Cinder finally getting a canon backstory and I am still planning to continue this comic in the future!

-When They Cry....

My fiancée and I recently read through Umineko together and we're currently reading Higurashi. I am obsessed with these VNs right now and will definitely draw some fan content of my favorite characters. ~

- As I've mentioned before, I spent a vast majority of 2020 scripting a looooong, original story with tons of worldbuilding "Knight and the Morning Star", but also a shorter slice of life/mystery comic that I haven't named yet.

Both of those I'm supposed to start drawing and posting this year. I'll start with the shorter one, I think.

-I just finished cranking out the English translation of "Bloodorable", an improvised comic about evil magical girls that a group of fellow artists and I have been working on since 2016. Once the first chapter has been published on Tapas, I'll share a link here in case some of you might be interested in seeing magic, gore, foul language and nonsense on full display.

That's all for today, take care, everyone!

Jeez, someone's been inactive lately, only dropping a few Cinder Shark comics in the last few months! Time for an update.

I've been writing a script for the ”original” comic I mentioned in my last journal post. I say ”original” because its roots are in an improvised webcomic my friends and I started drawing in 2014 but since I got the permission to do whatever I please with the characters and story, it has become its own thing with some familiar elements from the original ”Forever Ago”
(These lovely, skilled artists will be credited in the description once I start posting some pages.)

There's still a lot of work left to be done before I can start drawing and posting the comic itself but if everything goes as planned, you'll see the first few pages in January.
Trying to come up with a brand new title has been difficult, but at least for now the project shall be called

”Knight and the Morning Star”

So if you're interested in knights, magic, demon booty and the wonderfully  e v i l   g a y s
then maybe you'll find this weird-ass misadventure entertaining. This is not the official plot summary.

Status: Currently writing script and drawing concept art for this 24/7 with the power of coffee. Once done, my main focus will be on this comic. With RWBY stuff on the side.

RWBY PROJECTS:

Cinder Shark -  Status: Spreading chaos until the end of time

That's right ~ There will be even more adventures of Cinder Shark and her aquatic friends next year!
This series has melted my cold, dark void of a heart and now I can't stop drawing shark comics. Halp.
(No need for intervention, this is fine. I'm fine. My shark fins are fine. Go get yourself some chicken nuggets and enjoy the madness.)

A Broken Promise-  Status: I will continue this one! I promise. …. :p

It has been a while since the last part, hasn't it?
Don't worry, I'm still working on it. Sorry for the long wait. I've had the first part (page 3) almost done for months now but I've redrawn the second part (page 4)
4 times and I simply can't get any of the panels to look right for whatever reason.
I'm starting to think this page is cursed. o__o Maybe 5th time's the charm!

DELAYED/ CANCELLED PROJECTS:

Emberald shipping content- Status: RIP (with a chance of future resurrection)

I sure do love my evil one-sided, tragic, mostly platonic/ambiguous relationship. I really do.
But there's only so much one can do with the idea when the source material only gives you little droplets to work with until it doesn't anymore.
That's the situation right now. No drops of Emberald in sight in the world of RWBY.
Unless the show does a full 180 and hands me the biggest tank of shipping fuel known to man to fly my ship to the moon and beyond, there will be no more Emberald comics from me.

Except for this one comic that takes place during volume 6 that I never finished. Hmmmmmm.

Spontaneous Cinder & Emerald drawings may still happen!

Labyrinth of Illusions – Status:  Eeeeeeh????????

This one's in such a weird spot right now, since none of the character designs here match Volume 7. If I wanted to do this story correctly,
I'd have to explain every single thing that went differently after volume 5 ended and then add a couple of volumes worth of made up stuff to the exposition dump.
Since I'm about to start my original comic project very soon, it's very unlikely that I'd be able to pull that off in a reasonable time.
Basically we'd all be 70 before it's done.

To continue this comic, I will have to cut out the exposition, leave most of the past events untold and just focus on the set up and fight between our heroes and Emerald.
And then just end the story once the fight is over. We'll see how that plan goes. If it doesn't work, then RIP

Tale of the Snow Queen  - Cancelled (...sort of)

Allow me to offer you a long, rambling explanation:
January 23, 2017 was the day I suddenly stopped drawing Tale of the Snow Queen and went on an indefinite hiatus.
So almost three years have passed and I finally sat down and re-read the comic.
Instead of feeling excitement about rekindling an old project I loved drawing so very much, something felt off.

Yes, the horribly outdated art style of TOTSQ has bothered me for a while but that wasn't the only issue. The fault lies with the story itself.
Sometimes you really need time to reflect on your writing and only then can you see the cracks in the pretty picture.
The biggest crack being the love triangle between Lydia, Gerda and Kai. Especially the whole ”love spell” Lydia inflicted on Kai and that being the origin of Elsa. THE Elsa of Arendelle.
What I'm saying is that I can think of several different ways that hot mess of a love triangle could've been executed and I chose the one that, in hindsight, feels wrong for the story I was trying to tell.
This may not be a huge issue to everyone out there but I honestly don't feel comfortable continuing the comic in its current state even if there are some decent things about it.
This is why a script or at least an outline is necessary. I never wrote one for this comic, just went with the flow. Sadly, it shows.
My inspiration is also currently elsewhere. Even with Frozen 2 around the corner, this story just hasn't been on my mind lately.

What I might try at some point, is rewrite the entire story from start to finish and turn it into a piece of literature with a few key illustrations and additional scenes here and there.
Like an actual fanfic with drawings and stuff? How does that sound?
Although English is not my first language and this would be my very first attempt at writing an entire fanfic in English so what could possibly go wrong?

The answer is most probably everything and I apologize in advance.
This is not an ideal approach from the perspective of those who got used to reading TOTSQ in a comic form and I'm terribly sorry that I won't be able to keep my promise.
But with so many projects on my plate already and after three years of thinking about it, this is the best I can offer at this point in time.

I need to stop writing these at night. x___X Take care, everyone! Hugs and chicken nuggets ~

Things rarely go according to keikaku in life, but I'll keep trying to draw as much content for you guys as possible.

A Broken Promise:
The next installment has been on hold for a month, I currently have 8 panel sets out of 17 sketched out.
(However, I've been working on the script and I now have a better idea of how I want this story to end. *rubbing hands together nefariously*)
Will continue after next week...

Also there will be a few short & sweet "What if?" strips in the near future. The cover image is almost done.

T H E  S H A R K    W E E K   I S   C O M I N'!
That means I will be posting at least 2 Cinder shark comics next week!

Labyrinth of Illusions:
My goal is to start working on this comic again later this year.
However, "A Broken Promise" is my first priority right now.
Hnnnnggggh might want to draw something else with maiden Emerald though.

Original project:

Probably the biggest reason why I haven't been able to focus on RWBY art lately. (this, and health issues.)
This thing is has taken over most of my brain and I'm about to start drawing piles and piles of concept art for the project.
However, the plan has drastically changed from what I told you guys in my previous journal:
"working title: The Last Journey. Will most likely be renamed once I can actually start drawing this.
It won't be a big, epic thing. Just a basic fantasy/slice of life story about a freakishly tall demon lady who meets her kids for the first time after xx years and takes them on a journey
to see their messed up family members. Some blood and body horror will be included, but also bits and pieces of ancient Finnish folklore."

So, this idea is basically scrapped but it's sort of going to get a new life within another story.
If any of my watchers have ever taken a look at "Forever Ago", 100% improvised, partially translated (from Finnish to English. I haven't been translating it since 2016. Oof. Sorry.)
comic my friends and I have been drawing since 2014, then you may have a basic idea what this comic will be about.
I got the blessing from all the current artists working on the improv to produce a scripted and heavily altered comic based
on Forever Ago with some elements from the project I was talking about before. It will be fully colored and shaded.

It starts out as a medieval murder mystery (like the original) and magic is involved. The plot, the characters and the world will go through a rewrite and redesign.
The original project and artists(if they want to) will be linked to each page's description.

Tale of the Snow Queen:
Trying to fit this comic into my schedule for this fall! Drawing a little teaser image right now might post later idk.

Why do I always write these at 4 am? Heccin' hecc...

Hello,  dear friends and followers! How are you all doing? The evil drama queen/ Stache Maiden has news for you~

In all seriousness, I just thought I'd write a journal and tell you guys exactly what kind of stuff you can expect from me in the near future.
I haven't been drawing as much fan art lately, because I've been busy planning my very first long solo comic (working title: The Last Journey. Will most likely be renamed once I can actually start drawing this.)
It won't be a big, epic thing. Just a basic fantasy/slice of life story about a freakishly tall demon lady who meets her kids for the first time after xx years and takes them on a journey to see their messed up family members. Some blood and body horror will be included, but also bits and pieces of ancient Finnish folklore.
This whole thing is still in a very early stage of planning, so I will only be posting some concept art of the characters and the scenery at some point.

Updated JAN 18th!

2019:
A Broken Promise:
I'm currently sketching out the first "page(s)" of this chapter. Sadly, this will be delayed because I just started an unpaid internship at a new workplace and it's taking most of my time right now.
This chapter will be longer than the first one and will focus on Summer Rose and the struggles of team STRQ after Raven permanently noped out of their lives.
The comic will have three chapters in total (plus an epilogue)

Even more Cinder shark!
What can I say? Drawing silly stuff like this makes me happy.
Don't worry. This AU doesn't take away from the time I spend making my longer comics. I typically draw one of these when I'm having an art block/ when I'm getting in the mood for drawing.

Labyrinth of Illusions:
Will also return once volume 6 is over. I've been gathering information and details from the new volume to possibly include in the comic but since this is an AU and most of this was scripted before vol 6, some major plot points will diverge from canon events.

Evil Princess and the Street Rat:
It's been a while since I've continued this one, hasn't it? I'm not sure when I'll have the time to draw the second half of this story, but I really want to include our wing man's recruitment (Mercury) and the aftermath in this series.

The elephant in the room aka. Tale of the Snow Queen:
Will it finally return after such a long wait? Probably yes. My intention was never to completely drop the project. I burned myself out drawing this and because I'm no longer happy with how the comic looks, it's been really difficult for me to come back to this story. However, since my style has drastically changed during the hiatus, I will have to make a new reference sheet for the main cast and continue drawing this comic with RWBY- influenced style (& with a touch of Disney...?)
Currently sketching out a few reference sheets!

Somewhat unrelated but still kinda important: Just like last year, I'm only posting RWBY art of the episodes that are available for all RT members. I'm also hiding spoiler comments from my stuff when I'm around to spot them in time. I don't personally mind spoilers, but a lot of people do.

That's all... I think. XD Have a nice week and take care! Tigerpaw out! ~

Hello everyone!

And especially those who are following me for my RWBY art, because I feel like I need to ask you something.
So, I just finished a quick piece that has something to do with the volume 5 intro and I was wondering when I should
post it on DeviantArt since we don't have any "Spoiler Alert" images to cover our art here. Or do we? o_O I dunno.

Should I wait until it's been released on Youtube this Saturday or
is it okay for me to present my newest...thingy now that it's available for every member on RT's website?
I obviously don't want to spoil anything for you guys.
